Since 1 February 2011, under Article 34 of the General Noise Regulation (Decree-Law 9/2007), only accredited laboratories may carry out acoustic tests and measurements for official purposes.
In practice: a report from a non-accredited entity is not accepted by city councils or licensing authorities. The result — delays, repeat work and double the cost.
